I Quit Coffee and Drank Matcha for 30 Days: Here’s What Happened to My Body
I used to be a huge Coffee Addict. One cup in the morning, one in the afternoon. If I missed a day, I’d get a migraine. But the problem was… by 3 PM, I’d start getting “Palpitations”, “Shaky hands”, and “Insomnia” at night. Plus, once the caffeine wore off (Caffeine Crash), my body would shut down like a dead battery.
So I decided to take the Challenge: Quit coffee cold turkey and drink matcha for 30 days. And the results were pretty exciting.
Week 1: Hell Week (Withdrawal)
The first 3 days were torture! Caffeine Withdrawal hit me hard. Throbbing headaches, drowsy all day. Even though I drank matcha, the “Kick” wasn’t like coffee. Coffee is like a slap in the face to wake you up. Matcha is like a gentle shoulder massage. I had to use immense willpower not to walk into Starbucks.
Week 2: Seeing the Light (The Calm Focus)
Entering Day 8, the headaches vanished. I started noticing that “My focus is much better”. With coffee, my brain was hyper, fast, but scattered. With matcha, my brain felt “Clear” and I could “Focus” on the task in front of me for hours without getting distracted. So this is the power of L-Theanine!
Week 3: Stable Energy
This is what I liked the most. Usually, if I drink coffee at 8 AM, by 11 AM I’m sleepy and hungry. But matcha provides “Stable and Sustained Energy”. One cup in the morning lasted me until 2 PM with zero “Low Battery” feeling. And most importantly… Zero palpitations, zero shakes.
Week 4: Skin and Sleep
- Skin: Friends started commenting that my face looked clearer, less acne inflammation (probably thanks to EGCG antioxidants reducing inflammation).
- Sleep: I fell asleep so much easier. No more staring at the ceiling until 2 AM like when I drank afternoon coffee. Deep sleep and woke up refreshed.
Conclusion after 30 Days
Did I go back to coffee? … Yes (Hehe, I just love the smell). But my habits changed permanently:
- Morning: Coffee (For the joy of it).
- Afternoon: Matcha (To maintain energy without messing up my sleep).
Or on days I need high focus, I choose matcha immediately.
If anyone suffers from “Coffee Jitters” or “Morning Groginess”, I dare you to try this Challenge. 30 days might change your rushed life into a “Calm but Powerful” one!
